Keith & Joy Boyd of Olympus Olives Contractors & Transport (Vic) will provide an olive harvesting service to QLD, NSW, VIC, and SA from January 2004.

Olympus Olive Contractors and Transport will utilise a self propelled, over the row  mechanical harvester which allows variable width to adjust to diverse tree sizes, to provide Olive grove owners with a efficient (around 250 - 400  trees an hour); cost effective method of harvesting their fruit. 

Field trials in 2003 showed the harvester is capable of  up to 98% fruit retrieval.  A particular advantage for olive oil producers is the ability to harvest fruit whilst still green.  The leaf extractors and conveyer belts ensure that the olives are conveyed to the fruit bins with the maximum efficiency.  The olive harvester harvests continuously, adding to the cost efficiency.

Olympus Olives Contractors provide satisfaction to their customers. Olive growers can feel confident that their their olives will be harvested and loaded into fruit bins with the minimum of fuss.  The bins can then be loaded onto the owners transport ready to convey to olive processor of their choice.
