September 25th 2007

September 22nd 2007
I have placed the node back on air with the CentOS. 4 operating system

September 15th 2007
I have taken the node off air to upgrade the IRLP software to the new CentOS. 4 operating system

August 21st 2007

I have installed a new CW Ident on the IRLP Computer to ident for the repeater.

Oct 2006
I have replaced the Yeasu FT-8800 (a bit of over kill) with an RT-85 that I dragged from the shack so I can get the FT8800 back into general service.
The node is now operational via the VK3RBO repeater. It is now on a UHF J-pole on the roof of the shed as it just needs to hear the repeater which is not to difficult from White Hills

Feb 1, 2006
Node 6063 was launched
As a complete novice to LINUX the project was undertaken mainly to keep the brain active and also to help the Amateur community to make those overseas contacts possible when living in a non amateur environment.

Originaly it was on 147.750 Mhz simplex, using a Yeasu FT-8800 through a high gain dual band antenna at 25 feet AGL which put out a reasonable signal, providing coverage across Bendigo City and suburbs in all directions.
The computer is at present an old P266MMX with 128MB of ram and a 10GB drive. IRLP runs on a cut down version of Fedora cor 3 Linux, and is the product of Dave Cameron, VE7LTD. Internet connection is via TELSTRA BIGPOND on an ADSL line. at this time the
node was experimental, and it was "active"most of the time, I plan to test methods of linking, play with script files and whatever else comes to mind.
