Other lodges in the Central
Victoria regionThe lodge building has long been a feature of virtually every country town. As the towns sprang up with the spread of European settlement in the mid-19th century, the Masonic lodge was often one of the first social organizations established. Today, the host of problems facing small rural communities are shared by the lodges: dwindling and ageing populations, diminishing support and services due to urbanization elsewhere, and simply the lack of social capital to use effectively.
However, while many lodges have had
to close over the years, many still strive on. These ones operate in the
Central Victoria region. (There are more! Please contact me if I have left
