L'Huillier Family History
This family is one of Bendigo's
Pioneer Families.
They arrived here in the colony of Victoria in 1853 from France
via England on the clipper, Woodstock, which docked at Melbourne.
They first settled in Prahran near Melbourne
where Elizabeth stayed with the four children
while Remy Felix tried his luck on the Goldfields.
Not having much luck, he eventually brought land
and then in 1853 the family travelled to Bendigo to be with him
and settled near Sheepwash Creek in Mandurang.
Thus started the harsh life they were to lead.
